THE WAR OFFICE,

5-12

LONDON, S.W.1.

21st July, 1937.

I am commanded by the Army Council to acknowledge receipt of Colonial Office letter No: 53803/37 dated 28th June, 1937, on the subject of the Hong Kong Ordinance No: 55 of 1936, and in reply to state, for the information of Mr. Secretary Ormsby Gore, that they have no observations to offer upon the terms of the Ordinance or the Regulations.

2.

The Council however put forward the suggestion, for the consideration of Mr. Secretary Ormsby Gore, that it would perhaps be convenient if other Colonies concerned adopted similar regulations for the contingency now envisaged by the Hong Kong Government.

The Under Secretary of State,

Colonial Office,

S.W.1.

I am,

Sir,

Your Obedient Servant,

Igheck
